Steering boxes

Are the steering boxes in a 1985 GN the same ones used in the 1986 GN? I'm doing a 1986 driveline swap for a customerm and the box looks different to me. Will the lines meet up?

All of the GM Metric chasis use the same mounting points and the same external part. The insides may be different but the case and the hose locations are in the same place.

I thought the 86-87 TR's had a different steering box marked "yaya". For whatever reason, the hoses from the 86 ps pump don't look like they are going to line up to thr 85 steering box....that's just from eyeing it outside the car.

The body doesn't change, just the guts inside of them. The markings indicate what gearing it has in it. You can get the same gear box out of an IROC camaro or even an Extreem S-10.

Ok, thanks...I guess what's throwing me off is the difference in the ps pump, and the shape of its lines.
