Well, short story, I don't like to be chaep with my GN, but the economy and my house leaky water.... I need to watch my every dollar, still I need a new steering wheel but right now I can't afford the 275$ + dollar to have one refurbish (to 275$ USD will be more over 400$ cnd when done for me up here with the current exchange.)

As you can see, I really need one!

So plan B took over a new one. So I bought a used steering wheel from a board member with a good leather on it. So now I got a fairly good leather steering, BUT..... the aluminium spokes were very rusty. I tried Dremel, sanding...etc and it didn't look good. So I decided to use something that I didn't know it would turn out great.

I bought couple year ago some vinyl like stainless steel sticker roll, maybe a little too glossy for the original look, but well better the rust and stain for now. I only need to do little grey vinyl touch-up and install the steering in my car.

Here what it look like with the vinyl installed.
Let me know what you think

Its hard to actually see on this picture, but this part was really badly rusty and the pattern gone.

That actually looks damn good. Perfect match for the brushed metal too. :)

looks good , i'd do an old console plate and a set of woodgrain regal door straps with that for a custom look

Damn that looks GOOD!! Nice job!! VERY resourceful - Two thumbs up!!!!

and yeah, this should be a sticky!!!

Darn, I was hoping that you were going to show me a way to make the leather part of the wheel look like new with some special paint or something, LOL

My WE4's wheel looks like your before pic.

Well that's comming

I want to try to repair my old one ;)

That does look really good! I eneded up using "000" Steel wool and Metal polish to clean mine. It works but your stuff looks way easier and less time consuming...;)
