stereo upgrade

I just bought an alpine CDM 7874 head unit (goes very well with the GN interior ) and was also wanting to upgrade my concert II speakers. Now Im not really into the whole abnoxious bass to impress your teenage friends thing, I just want to be able to turn the volume up with the ttops out without sacraficing sound quality. I also dont want to spend much money (150 at most). That being said, what would be my best bet? Would just new rears give me what Im looking for? Why do most people seem to switch to a 6X9? What are my options and how much can I expect to spend per set of dash, door, or deck speakers? Sorry for all the stupid questions but Im new the audio scene.

What exactly are you wanting to buy for $150? Its not going to get you much. What are your ulimate goals? A little more bass? Or hearing the full spectrum with the t tops off?
