Still a poping problem. Help, need opinions

Checked all my grounds, they look good. Got some crc electronic parts cleaner and cleaned all the connections. All vac lines were checked as well. Sending coil and module to 87NAT tomm. and will find out the results on that. Does Auto zone or some of these parts stores check alternators? If it comes out weak ill replace with a turbobuicks unit...im hoping thats the problem.
 
Did you $h!tcan that POS volt booster? If not, might as well buy several alternators while your at it.... :rolleyes:
 
lol its on the way...actually ill probably discount it in the for sale section but shhhhh dont tell anyone;)

Hello,How bad is the popping? does it backfire out the exhaust? and does it get worse the longer it runs?

No backfire and it stays the same no matter what. It 28lbs of boost its alot worse than 13-14 lbs and only at WOT it misses. I can run 20lbs at 3/4 throttle all day long but soon as I put it too the floor it quits pulling and starts missing.

Adam im working on it! Getting no help from the Miss. guys;)

If you can, put it on a trailer and bring it down next week, we will be tieing up some loose ends on mine before bradenton. Scot W will be in town, he and I will be down at Randy's.

Ok, no backfire.does the data show any knock? Have you retorqued you'r head bolts.I have a very similar setup to your's.Had commetic head gaskets made a popping noise at exactly 16psi everytime,i was running 27psi never had knock.If you pull timing out It should go away.
 
no i havent retorqued them yet. i will someday. ive never had any knock from this

You know everything car related yall have I dont make because of me not having a hauler................so I was thinking and maybe the PTP and DSR could get together for a fundraiser for me. Let it be a surprise though I dont want to know until a week before BG;) :( :( Sound Good:confused:

I have seen some pretty good hauler prices floating around, keep your eye on racingjunk.com there are some good deals on there. open, 18' dovetail is what i have right now.

Time to update this thread...it turned out I had a bad coil pack so i put a new one on. It helped but didnt fix the problem. I put some other plug wires on and its even better! The car pulls hard! Now I hear this noise that wasnt there before at WOT. Its hard to describe because the car feels strong. Its no where near the popping from the coil/plug wire and you cant really feel it. Could it be detonation?

On my pass today everything was going good, felt great and then I noticed my Caspers knock gauge slowly moving from the green to the yellow. First time i have ever seen the gauge register while making a pass. On the other hand going by the datalog the xfi never registered any knock. The tune has not been changed in any way sine day one and this is the first time its happened. The way the gauge moved makes me think its the real deal.

In the past 2 weeks the car has got a new coil/module, plug wires, and fuel filter. Today was the first pass since.

Ill try to post the datalog.
