Well, took it out today and it still is doing the same thing. 10psi. I have a brand new autometer 3303, 30 psi boost gauge, it also shows the vacuum up to 30 hg on the vacuum side. at idle sometimes hits 17-20hg, and does 0 out when ignition is off. I'm gonna try blowing 20 psi into the gauge to see if it registers right.
I will also try unhooking the vacuum line to the wastegate to see what happens, but very leary cuz now the turbolink is showing knock retard when rpms get up now(only 8*at about 4000 rpm)
 
well, the gauge reads right when air is blown into it, but even with the vacuum lines off the wastegate it still is showing low psi boost, I'm gonna look over all the vacuum lines and make sure they are where they need to be. If this is right, whats wrong here? Anyone have a ta33 for me?
 
Is it knocking without boost?

If it's knocking at low boost+boost won't go over 10psi even with the lines unhooked, I would look at exhaust restriction or even the possibility the turbo is getting worn and blowing oil into the intake although if there's no smoke out of the tailpipes it's most likely not enough oil to make it knock at such low boost.

What are your 02s like?

I didn't read that you have it basically locked shut. Vacuum lines might not help in that case. You could uncork the exhaust at the DP to make sure there's not a restricion somewhere down the line. Also, the hotair crossover pipe is doublewalled. The inside can collapse and still look fine on the outside. On a pretty much stock setup, I've seen my dad's car peg the guage at 30psi when a vacuum line blew off, the turbo will go way beyond 10psi on a nearly stock motor.

With the vacuum lines pulled the boost should go unlimited. The fact that it didn't means the problem is somewhere other than vacuum lines (to the wastegate anyway). The only other thing I can think of is if the wastegate puck isn't lining up with the hole.
 
I think my problem was with the vacuum lines to the boost gauge, I'm thinking that I had the boost line hooked up somewhere with a main vacuum line and while under boost, it was also getting sucked.
When I unhooked the vacuum lines to the wastegate (2of em), The turbo definetly sounded like it was working more, but the gauge wasn't showing it. I looked over my vacuum lines and they weren't like in the factory drawings. So I changed them how the factory routing looked.
I got a question though, the factory drawing only shows one (1) port on the wastegate actuator. I have 2 stock turbos here, 1 on the car, the other stock junk, and both wastegate actuators have 2 ports. What is the port closest to the turbo routed to? I have the port furthest away from the turbo going to the bottom of the turbo and also tee'd to the wastegate solenoid.

Boost still isn't getting past the 10 psi mark. I get knock(up to 12* retard) at 3800rpm, just before the shift, I am using ultra 94, fuel pressure with line on at idle is 38, and gets up to 45 on load. I hear the turbo running harder but this damn gauge isn't seeing the difference. My gauge is tee'd right into the fuel pressure regulator. I tried a port up on top of the tb but it only showed vacuum. Where else should I try installing this boost line?
 
There's a plug on the front of the intake manifold.
Also could tee into the line behind turbo for the map sensor.
FP should go up base setting plus boost:
38 +10 boost= 48 @ WOT.
 
a plug on the front of the intake, are you referring to the one that goes to the fuel canister for the hotair intake

YOU FIXED IT!
for whatever reason, the boost wasn't getting completely through or the gauge was splitting pressure with the fuel regulator. I put the boost gauge right on the front of the intake and it works wonderfully! I am now getting around 16-18 psi boost, moderately with all vacuum lines where they need to be.
Thank you sooo much everyone! You all postponed my hair from turning grey another couple weeks :D

ps, my fuel pressure is still rising accordingly with boost so everything is good!
 
i never had knock at low rpms, just had it before it wanted to shift. I am running sunoco 94 and right now the car gets up to 12* at around 3800 rpms, 20 psi boost. I am gonna turn the boost down till that knock goes away. I think it is because the fuel's volume is getting cut out, right now still have stock fuel pump shimmed, but should recieve my 340 Friday, then I will hotwire it and turn the boost back up to where I can

not really, i'm handicaped with 91 octane here locally. I can only run 15#, i'll have to wait untill i move back to Houston, not long. Also the cracks in my headers don't help either. Also have boost creep in 3rd, so i have stuff to do untill I'm redy for 16#+.
 
Vacuum hoses

The vacuum hose closest to the wastegate rod is the vent side and connects to the right most nipple on the vacuum block on top front of the throttle body. The middle nipple connects to the charcoal canister. The left nipple is plugged. The rear nipple left side is connected to the PCV valve. The rear middle one is connected to the vacuum line to the intake manifold. The vacuum line on the wastegate pressure nipple goes to the turbo outlet nipple and the restrictor "Y" and the wastegate controller on the valve cover. Thats all the vacuum lines I can see on my car. Hope this helps. Mr. Buick
