What are the stock DP limits on a GN? I want 1/4 mile times or dyno numbers to back up your statements.

I've seen a car pick up 6whp/10ft lbs with a 3" TH style dp using te44 on a stock engine with bolt ons. Boost was high 20's and the turbo was ran for all it was worth. Very low 11 sec power. Stock dp is not much of a restriction on anything with stock heads. We picked up about 180whp with just boost and some other simple modifications while still using the stock dp

I currently have a stock turbo and downpipe on my car, i might take it to the 1/8 mile this weekend let's see how low she can go. Im hoping it get's cooler in Miami it was over 90 degrees today sweated my ass off and hurt my back taking home a huge xmas tree.

:asshat:

That pisses me off lol Come a little north and you'll cool off.

the pipe is fine, its the elbow housing that ties it to the turbo thats restrictive..

Lot of people swapped to THDP and didn't see huge gains. I was one of them...
Now a TTA down pipe on the other hand is pretty necked down; and probably benefits from a larger unit, not much room to work there though...:bucktooth:

Odd, my butt dyno says I picked up quite a bit over the stock elbow and DP....

I could tell a difference after I swapped DPs. However, I also went to a high flow cat and a 2.5" exhaust with straight through mufflers at the same time so that might explain the dramatic difference. 6hp wouldn't be noticed on the street, so I guess it had to be all of the other exhaust mods that woke up my tired T.

That actually reminds me now too, I went with a 3" test pipe...maybe that explains the reason the car felt faster.
