Hi Folks,

My stock driver side header needs repair again. Previous repair had a crotch brace between 3 and 5 welded on.

I am thinking that my previous weld was not reliable. Was wondering if folks have had luck with repairing stock and never failed again.

or I should just go ahead and buy a new aftermarket from TA Performance.

Thx,

IMO- replace. I bought a set of stock TA headers years ago in anticipation of the cracked header problem.
X2 on replacing those old stock headers .
I replaced mine with TA race headers over 15 years ago & have had zero issues with them .
Not an inexpensive undertaking, but if you own one of these cars you’ve learned that you gotta pay to play! 👍

Even though they work very well your always gonna have a problem with the stock headers cracking because of the sub par metal and the way the engine lifts under boost, back in the days i welded mine 5x before i sprung for some Postons, its not worth the work of pulling them in/out and the welding all the time.

TA Performance is the way to go

Kirban had sold a reman manifold 4 that. Probably not anymore.
