Hi, I am new to the Turbo Buick scene. I am interested in getting one. I know these cars can be made to go fast, and for not much money.

I was wondering what the stock HP and Torque numbers are. I am interested in the intercooled motor. Also, is there any difference between a Grand National and a Turbo Buick?

1987 ratings: 245 hp 355 torque. There is no difference in the drivetrain or engine between a GN and a turbo regal. (also known as a t-type or turbo-t) Hope this helps and welcome to the board.

TH-2004R four speed auto with o/d

Almost none of these cars are stock anymore, so know what to look for.

go to www.gnttype.org, there is an article there on looking for a GN

RE stock HP numbers

I assume these are at the crank and not chasis dyno??

What boost level is stock. I had hear it was around 16 lbs??

/\...Crystal Lake??!?! Hey neighbor! Do you go to Cruise Nights at all? anyway....Stock boost was set at like 12-15#'s I think. Not that it matters anymore, since these things are getting older and more tinkered w/ all the time.

Well, I dynoed mine totally stock except for alcohol injection and cranking the boost to 20lbs with a red armstrong 93 chip. I got 300hp and 420ft lbs at the rear wheels. Not too shabby...

Bishair,

Man that sounds like alot of HP for a TOTALLY stock setup!

300 at the wheels is like 360 at the crank!
