Stock Intake Question

I have a stock air cleaner box with the oval aperture open to the engine compartment. I've seen the hose that connects to it on highway stars' site before it went down, but what/where does the other end of the hose connect to? I dont see anything obvious, maybe I'm missing a part on the core or fender? Attaching some pics of the area.

It isn't

It sits loose in the opening?

I take that back. The little air horn is rivited to the core support and the airbox slides into it.
