Stock tranny strength

I have 95,000 miles on my car, got the car with about 90,000 on it. Tranny still shifts hard and firm. Im pretty sure its been rebuilt, but i am just assuming that its just stock rebuilt i have no records on anything that was done to the car before i got it. wondering what kind of launches a stock tranny can hold. I was doing consistent 1.8's and a few 1.7's with the stock D5. i
recently picked up a 3500 lock up i am going to put on. How hard can i launch my car before i need take the tranny apart and make it stronger?

I've had 1.6's with stock D5, i think my car is making enough power that it is making the converter stall. But I also have a art carr shift kit and a B&M cooler.

When I started hitting middle to low 12's with 1.8 launches is when my 50k mile stocker started slipping. You could tell when it would shift gears it was very soft and would hardly lower the rpms. It's not necessarily how much power the stock tranny can take, but how many times will it take it....usually when you get into high hp, the clutch bands get burned up which then leads to slippage first, and more serious problems later if not fixed.

Now, a TE-62 with the stock D5 and you pulled off those kind of 60' times?? Your D5 may have been restalled if you suspect tranny work had been done. An easy test is to apply the brake and power brake it and note what rpms the rear tires start to spin at, and that is roughly your convertor stall speed.

yeah those 60's with a 62 and a stock D5 i believe, i just use to the stock tach however accurate that may be, i do have a art carr tranny cooler to help, would a deep tranny pan help? i would build it up when i go to put this 3500 stall in, but i do not have any more money now to spend.
