can any 1 help me? my 86 gn has a stock th200-4r w/ about 140,000 miles. i just changed the trans pan gasket, thought it was leaking turns out the leak is coming from the area between the torque converter and the trans. the trans overheated and i lost all fluid. the trans was slipping. changed the gasket, added new fluid trans no longer slips seems fine but its leaking like crazy. i was told it may need a new pump seal. any suggestions?

I'd say you were told right. Pump seal, a Seal Retainer may also help. Check to make sure the Pump bushing hasn't walked forward & cut the seal. Some Pumps have a step machined in the casting to prevent this. I think this was added around 86 or 87 with the #690 Pump Bodies, #082 & #149 Bodies. don't have the step.
