I've been running denatured alcohol / distilled water at a 50/50 mix on a newer SMC kit. This is on my wife's car, which is sort of a basic mod car running mid 12's at 108, nothing fancy. Sometimes it does break-up a little bit under boost due to the alcohol / water injection, but only occasionally, and it always clears up after a second or so. I was wondering if I switched to straight alcohol if it would maybe burn better and run smooth more reliably.
I do have it set to start the spray soon, starting around 3-5PSI. I have it set this way to get the pump running ASAP when I hit it from a roll, which helps to avoid detonation under those conditions.
The car has a TA49, 3"DP, 009's, extender, Trans+, hotwired 340, SMC, direct scan, and that's about it. 21 PSI boost. 21 degrees timing.
thanks in advance
