Converted to vacuum brakes, pedal goes to the floor easily then brakes apply, no gradual stopping, pedal either takes forever to return or doesn't at all. Purchased new master cylinder and no difference. Checked all check valves and lines, pedal is the correct vacuum brakes pedal, every bleeding procedure has been done. When I remove the check valve from the booster it releases air so that tells me it's holding. What the heck else is there to check??

With car off the pedal is really hard and low. Car running it goes to the floor with a "woosh" sound then the brakes apply. From there the pedal either sticks or takes a long time to return.

You either have air in the system or a really bad adjustment on the rears.

Going to check the rear brakes. They would need adjusting even if all ya did was replace a powermaster system with a vacuum system? Nothing was done to the actual brakes. Strange....

Hydroboost conversion

To convert to a vacuum booster, you must change to a vacuum booster brake pedal. The pin location on a Powermaster and Hydroboost pedal is much higher. The vacuum pedal pin is about 1/2" down. You will break the plastic valve body on a vacuum booster connecting to the wrong pedal. The leverage is too extreme for the Regal's 24mm master cyl.

The pedal was one of the first things I checked to make sure I used the right hole. Everything was bought from RedRegalT, his vacuum brake kit. It sat for almost a year till the powermaster motor quit. I was thinking the master cylinder dried up on me from sitting, but a new master cylinder didn't change anything. Once the rain stops the rear brakes will be checked. It definitely could be the rear brakes. I failed inspection on them the last time a few years ago and replaced both wheel cylinders and did the adjusting procedure and still barely passed, so something may be out of wack.
