Use the ARP torque specs. Go buy an ARP catalog, and read what Smokey wrote about fasteners. It's fact, plain and simple.

Depends who you ask.

Many of us torque the ARP units to 84 Ft/Lb's, with a 5Ft/Lb in-block torque on the deck end of the stud. This WILL decrease the fastener's ability to be accurately retorqued, as this practice will cause hastened stretching of the stud(s).

If you haven't had the block honed with a torque-plate set up for a fastener tightened at this level, and are simply replacing the stock torque-to-yield bolts, use the ARP factory specs.

Not really a recommendation either way, just the faxx. There you have it.

About to torque plate hone, so thats why I am asking. Good to know. Thanks guys.

Hey, I thought Disco Stu doesn't advertise?

Inside joke, I guess...for those who get it.
