Ok, what is the most powerful computer subwoofer system out there?? I read that the Logitech Z-5500 system has a 10 in. sub thats pretty loud. Im pretty unexperienced with home theater systems, but would I be able to hook up a home theater amplifier and 12 in. home subwoofer to my computer??? Or, another thought, can I hook up a home amp to one of my car subs and connect it to the computer (probably not due to the different ohms...??)

You cant hook up car speakers to a computer because of the ohm difference. Another thing I noticed is that most computer sound cards are only good for 2.1. I know they advertise as 5.1 but they truly arent. I would stick to the Logitech and if you want more sound, go to walmart or bestbuy and buy a cheap 5.1 system.

The Klipsch Pro Media is superb system that POUNDS when gaming. Plus they know audio. Logitech makes great mice and keyboards :)

i got this on sale Logitech® Z-5500 Digital during last years black friday for around 200$ (waiting 5hr in the dark for it, but black friday is worth the wait for anything!) Maybe this black friday for 2006 it will be on sale again somewhere. This thing is very impressive. Almost out performs my 7.1 ultra thx home theater from harmon/kardon but not quite :D . With this system it will be enough for you trust me, i promise you. Its perfect for loud music, or watching movies or playing games, this thing does it all!

i could tell you all about it, but id rather you read it. My favorite feature is the controll center, its small and compact, ez to use and looks great!

dont forget about black friday this year get what want for like 50% off or more depending on what your trying to buy of course! Black friday is a tech-no-weenee's christmas  Its my favorite time of year! Im looking at a 25 inch LCD flat screen for about 200$ this year for black friday.

All I have to say is that I have the Z5500 and when I turn it up HALF WAY it is REALLY loud and clear......you will not regret it. I paid $325 for mine and it was worth every penny.

Pipe it out to your home stereo

I am pushing 600 real watts out of my home stereo that I also tied into one of my computers. Do not insult your bootleg MP3 collection by running it through a bad speaker system. Beaware of bogus wattage ratings, X watts at what frequency? I have seen some that claim some high wattage yet only use a 3-5 amp power supply, do the math, most are way off.

Hey klrv6,

I dont have a real good home system in the first place, but the 10" subwoofer of the z-5500 claims to have an rms rating of 188 watts, so I think that would be pretty loud..

So, by the looks of it, the Z-5500 sounds like the best computer speakers for the money....
