I still get full boost, but it takes forever to spool now. A/F during spool up is good and I cant find any other reason. I did get a code 44 a few days ago, but there is no condition I can see that would cause this. Cross counts ok. BLM's really good. Fuel pressure right. O2's good. Anyne ever have this happen for no obvious reason? I did replace a small portion of hose that comes off the wastegate T, that leads to the pressure regulator I use for boost control. I didnt touch the T itself, and the orifice'd barb is where it should be...i think its going toward the turbo scroll. The hose hasnt popped off. But, the inside diamter of this piece of hose is smaller than the others, but not really small. Just a little smaller than the rest. It still spooled up quick when I replaced it. The lag problem came a little later.

Your TE44 turbo has the hole off 1/8th of a inch, what elbow/ downpipe do you have.
Might/probably sticking in the hole and binding, not allowing it to spool

Have you checked you headers for cracks, loose bolts, or blown gaskets? I'd bet it's exhaust or wastegate(not fully closed) related. ;)

Where have we heard that one before, eh Bryan? ;)

Similar thing happened to me. In addition, the spool was inconsistent, fast one time and slow the next four times. Peak boost varies 2 PSI from one time to the next. With Bryan's help, I found a ported wastegate hole and a standard puck, I needed a larger wastegate puck....Its in the mail :)

I have ran into a slew of 44 and 49s with the incorrect bore hole placement for people running the STOCK elbow and bigger turbo. Seems over time the new housings PTE its off 1/8th of a inch and causes the puck to seat INTO the hole and wont allow it to spool properly because it binds up.

Easy remedy to fix it, bore the 4 holes in the stock elbow where it mounts to the turbo, then sit there and flap the puck to the turbo till it will not "catch" inside the hole.. what happens is the puck will actually catch the lip of the hole and wont seat, causing a bind and slow spool.
Bore the holes, sit and flap it, or purchase a stock elbow with a bigger puck and be done with it.
