Suffolk, Norfolk and surrounding area

Got a job offer, military and wondering what the area is like. It's a joint job, multi force gig and think the HQ is in Suffolk but need to double check. It might also be the naval air station? Daughter will be a junior in HS and her and my wife both have horses. Really looking for info on high schools and then worry about housing. Horse property would be a huge plus... It has got to be better that Louisiana...

Any info appreciated

I am up the road in Surry County, Suffolk schools are good my 6 year old went to Kindergarten last year, it was more like 1st Grade. I grew up in Chesapeake, I would stay away from Norfolk. Lots of people in this area--that is why we moved to the middle of no where.
