Other then Red Bull (sugar free), Unsweetened Nestle Tea, and water what options are there for sugar and aspertane free beverages?.

I tried Froogling and found zip about the sugar content of beer. Anyone know where to find out how beer interacts with diabetes?.

TIA

hi bruce. i'm a type 1 diabetic. will be 26 next week, was diagnosed when i was 18.

luckily the one good thing that has come from this rash of low carb diets is lots of stuff to eat and drink!

i have given up anything with caffeine right now as i was getting into type II hypertension.

but any major soft drinks or their generic grocery store equivalents have diet stuff.

i'm not sure about apartine. so if the stuff i list has it i'm sorry in advance.

diet coke
diet cherry coke
diet sprite
diet seven up
diet mountain dew regular, caffeine free and code red.
diet sunkist
diet root beers
diet creme soda
there a sugar free tang with i like.
theres some diet arizona iced teas that are really nice if you don't mind the caffeine and want a nice ginseng shot to go with it :D

krystal lites and lots of generic sugar free drink mixes(dry stuff you pour into a pitcher and add water).

head on down to wal-mart or a local grocery store and check out what they have.

our local super wal mart had a low sugar kind of orange juice. it tasted like 90% sugar free tang and 10 percent OJ but it only had 5g carbs per 8oz vs about 25 for regular OJ

alcohol. well its not that good for diabetics. but i can't help it. i love the sauce. alcohol can have a bad effect for type 1's especially if you don't control your blood sugar because it will block insulin and glucose reacting together because the liver is processing the alcohol instead of the glucose.

miller lite has 3.2g of carbs per 12 oz serving. michelob ultra is 2.6g per 12 oz serving. i'm not sure on any others. hard liquor has no carbs. a good drink is like captain morgans and diet coke or i've had 2 diet tonic waters and vodkas today.

if you are newly diagnosed(i'm going to assume type 2) or type 1 if the case may be, go see a diabetes educator or an endicrinologist. check your blood sugar a lot until you get your patterns down. with me stress wreaks havoc on my blood sugar. but check it against food, stress, before and after exercise.

if you want to know more hit me up on yahoo IM justintraveling or on PM here.

I have a GN to wax :D

I'd tried some of the local stores, I guess it makes sense to try Walmart. Hadn't thought of that.

Thanks

any wal-mart or chain grocery store will have a ton of sugar free stuff. but just go through all the aisles there's not one "sugar free" section. its usually spread about in the section of its non low sugar brothers and sisters :)

I drink Diet RC (Caff, no aspartame) or Diet Rite (No Caff, no aspartame).

Both use Splenda.

i drink that flavored water stuff from wally world, it has no caffine, no calories, and no sugars.

its called fit and active actually tastes like cranberry juice.

been thinking about the pump myself. or going to 3 shots a day. that large morning shot is just a beeeoootch. i don't like having a "timer" on when my meals need to be regulated.

Crystal Light Peach Tea mix. We've lived on it for the last 5 years and still love it! Started on the Raspberry and swiched then. OOPS, it's Aspartame.
