Summer heat kills performance?

Does the summertime heat kill performance on alky cars as much as non- alky cars? Can you even tell a diifference in upper 80 degree weather?

I usually have to turn the knob up on the alky some when the temps get pretty high, to keep knock away. But have run many high 11's during summer heat.

The cooling effect of alky/meth does help to a certain extent, but when ambient temps/humidty are way up there and the IC is not able to knock off a bunch of heat, the gains with alky/meth are not as great as they would be if it's a nice chilly night with dry air.
