I'm closest to Barona so that is my first choice but their website and hotline sucks. Anyone know if they are open on sunday? if not them, who is?

The new engine is in the car and running strong :D

I want to take it out for it's first official check ride on Sunday. Anyone else want to come out and race?

Pablo, happy to hear the old beast is running again. What ever happened to Qualcom, are they still racing there?

Post some new pictures, see you in November or December.

Hey Ray, they are still racing at qualcomm. I won't be able to race there tomorrow if they are even open. I'll get some pictures up soon of the car, it came out pretty awesome if I do say so myself

Glad to hear you'll be back soon, we'll tear it up just like old times

That's great, I plan on doing some volunteer work there and race. What better way to get free passes to race right:wink: Sure will beat paying $30 bucks a pop.

Hey, please do post some pictures, before and after would be cool to show off all you hard work.

Summit series at Fontana Sat&Sun. $50 for all day test and tune

OUCH

Hey Pablo, got the trans in, replacing upper header gaskets AGAIN, should be road ready tonight.
You ever paint that beast.

Hey Tom, I did paint it, I figured Chris would have shown you the picts

check out this thread for the picts http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/sh...intjob-pretty-much-complete-picts-within.html

Good to hear that beast is gonna be back on the road. You should come out to the track if you can. I'll call Chris if I end up going to fontana

Chevota, thanks for the tip. I think that's where I'm headed.

Pablo Looks good.
Took me two days to reinstall the headers - headers suck.
So now I am road worthy, time take it out a break in the trans softly.

Well I didn't get to run this weekend. I trailered it up to fontana and it turns out they weren't letting anyone test and tune, bracket racing only. Since I wasn't feeling like blowing away 50 bux on one run I came home.

Here are a few of pictures I promised Ray

No worries chevota, it's not your fault. The fontana webpage and telephone hotline SUCKS, but then again it's better than Barona which sucks even more if you can believe it.

I looked on the fontana page and called the line and there was no mention of a lack of test and tune.

No biggie, if anything it was a good dry run to figure out everything i need to take and do to get the car on the trailer and drive it up to the track. Figuring out how to load it on my buddies trailer was a PITA

Yes the airfilter is big :) but believe it or not its the same price as air filters most other guys run. I won't be worried about my air filter posing a restriction ;)

I'm really anxious to take this thing to the track. It's running very hard. I'm hoping to make my old combo's 7.2 look slow hehe

Holly crap Batman! Was that 7.2 with nitrous also? I would figure you would run faster. How much boost and what turbo you got? Im just trying to figure where I should be at compared to a similiar setup (stock long block with stock valve springs and timing chain, only bolt ons) and Im running a 7.5 @ 91MPH.

The nitrous is just there to spool the turbo, it comes on at WOT and shuts off at 16 psi. I was still tuning it in when I ran that 7.2, it only took me to a 1.7 60 foot. I just really hate having to try and spool the turbo on the line.

Boost was way upper 20s on that run probably around 28 psi. I discovered my couplers from the intercooler had worn holes in them when I tore everything down. So I was throwing away a ton of power there. The car had a lot more left in it when it blew a head gasket.
