contact bruce @ PTS he has a killer new one out and can answer all the questions u may have.

A super servo is a sonnax oversize servo for the gm 2004r transmission .it has a larger apply area than the stocker.this produduces a firmer shift into 2nd and 3rd gear. a larger servo reduces the chances of a back to first 3/2 kickdown with hi powered engines and raises the clamping force applied to the band during 2nd gear operation. the sonnax design as welll as some others advocate deleting the cushion spring out that applies the servo.this is a poor reccomendation. We have developed a servo with a larger apply area than sonnax, tci, btoverdrive, pts etc. This is guaranteed .the od of our servo is 3.005 and uses a smaller o ring to accomplish proper cover to case sealing with the punched out diameter. This design allows the use of accumulator circuits(not deleted)with spring as well as the cushion springs and still they produce killer shift quality at all throttle angles and no part throttle bangs.here is a link to ours www.CKPerformance.com

ck

are these easy to install do these have the pin and springs like other kits have to tune the servo how much does your servo run

Ive used both the super servo and CK's. CK's is better engineered and easier to get the band clearance right than the super servo which deletes the cushion spring. Do not delete the cushion spring.

I have to chime in on this one , no where does the sonnax super servo tell you to leave out the cushion spring , it is offered as an option to produce the firmest possible 1-2 shift ! I do not specialize in the 2004R nor do i want to however having owned my own automotive transmission shop for over 10 years i have rebuilt several 2004R and had no difficulty setting up the pin travel on a sonnax servo , i haven't tried the ck servo as of yet but it sounds like a good one! we do alot of ford E4OD and 4R100 transmissions and the sonnax sure cure kit is second to none in curing and preventing future problems! I've used sonnax products on every transmission we rebuild or repair without removing and will continue. In my opinion they make some excellent products.
