Would it be possible to convert the 3.8 turbo to a 3.8 supercharged?? I dont know why you would wnat to do it, but you wouldnt have any turbo lag :) Just an idea, I wonder how it would perform vs the turbo. say wiht a vortech supercharger. thoughts would be cool.

Yeah great supercharge it and put all that stress on the crank and for what? Because you have lag? I don't have any lag because my turbo is matched correctly with the rest of my combo..... My honest opinion is it is NOT a very smart or well thought out idea and I'm being nice:) If you want a supercharged 3.8 sell your GN and go buy a newer Regal GS and have no lag:rolleyes: There would simply be too much work and money involved just to build a time bomb and go slower!!!

haha, yeah, im just throwing out ideas, i wonder if anyone has ever tried it. i've been throwing around so many ideas, the one i like the best is the twin turbo idea, i would like to get a set of champion heads, do a full port/polish/setup, either buy or make an exhaust manifold, i have a spare intercooler, and a brand new stock turbo, that'll flow some CFMs :) i gotta do some research, but i think its a good idea, opposed to my ****y other ideas like the supercharged 3.8 and the turbocharged 455. i like the idea of one small turbo (totally eliminate turbo lag) and say a TE44 or TA49, but that gets costly when i already have two stock turbos and two stock intercoolers

not to stray off topic but..

a guy at the body shop we took my dads truck to, i heard this really nice sounding car start up, so i look and i see this really nice 70 el camino.. i was like drooling over it, they just finished the paint, and i look down and it is up on 24's i almost cryed. so i started talking with him, telling him how i had an el camino but it was stolen and chopped up. then i told him that i had a Grand National now. he said those were nice cars but if he were to have one he would take the turbo off and put a supercharger because the turbo cant make as much power as a supercharger and the supercharger makes a good powerband... i started to argue with him about most people put bigger turbos on and he said they arent efficent and everyone he knows puts superchargers on them.. so i gave up there.
