supercharge riviera engine

HI guys I have a 1995 buick riviera and I just spun a bearing. I am looking on ebay for an engine and I was wondering why the 1996-1999 riviera engines are different from mine. would one of these work in my vehicle or at least the block if anyone knows. I would appreciate any input.

Hi,
I think adaptation would be simpler with a whole car to work with, but maybe a complete drivetrain could be made to work pretty easily, provided you have the harness.Motors are radically different, blower is bigger on the SeriesII. Also, '96 up has a two speed fuel pump setup, but through a resistor, I think. Sound like fun, not a whole lot of performance increase though. I like the way the Series II is built, lots of good parts in it. Good luck!
