Surging Under Boost

My car is not running right...at wot the car will start surging once it reaches about 10-12lbs of boost. The O2 on the scanmaster is at 830 when the surging starts. When i let off the throttle during the surge, sometimes the car cuts off. If i ease into the throttle and let the boost build it will boost about 14 before the surging starts. It seems like the car is starving for something. I have played around with the fuel psi adjustments at the regulator...still get the same results. Fuel psi does increase with boost at 10lbs of boost, fuel psi is showing 53-55. I have the following upgrades: 42lb injectors, pte 51 turbo, ptc 2800 converter, turbo tweak chip, hot wire kit, walbro 340
 
Boost or vac leaks?
Cam sensor adjustment?
Whats the batt voltage during this?

I have had that issue before and it was that I was dumping to much fuel into the engine. By turning up the boost or timing, the surging went away. I was only running 16# boost. Food for thought!

I've heard of this happening before, but usually with small(ish) TA-49 / TE-44 Turbos with a stretched stock location intercooler like the PTE SLIC, but believe it is prominent at partial throttle openings. Not so sure about WOT though.

Back in '98, I had a turbo surge like that....... But it was before it hit 5# boost. Check for end play on the shaft. But I really think it is a full issue..

This is the reason I made sure I bought a turbo with an "S" ported compressor cover when I upgraded the turbo, just to make sure I didn't experience this on my car with the set up I am running.

However, it may not be what you are experiencing with yours.
 
Thanks Guys! I think I found the issue....weak coil...I replaced the coil today. Hopefully I can test it at wot tomorrow when the roads are dry.
 
Something to keep in mind is a misfiring cylinder will cause raw fuel to mix in the header with the burnt fuel causing a false rich reading, 830 o2 readings is right at the point where you can have rich misfire and it can be tricky to tell if its simply to rich or ignition related. Hopefully the coil fixes it, Keep us posted with your results.

I always thought that a misfiring cylinder would make the oxygen sensor give a false lean... when a cylinder misfires, unburnt fuel and air go out the exhaust. The oxygen sensor senses the oxygen in the unburnt air, and the voltage goes down (lean). Right?
