Sway bars from 78 Malibu don't fit

Hey crowd. Had a bad day today. I had two sway bars I removed from my 78 Malibu: 1 5/16 Global West front bar and 1" rear bar (not sure what brand)

Neither fit my WE4!

Rear bar was right against the rear pumpkin, which didn't look right to me.

The front one had to be forced with a crow bar to line up with mounting holes, and even then didn't look right.

Any ideas? Are Turbo Regal sway bars different than other G body cars?

The rear may be specific for 7.5 rear because it was the most common one in a G body chassis. On the front, it sounds like it's bent or something's going on with the frame.

I had 8.5 GN rear on my Malibu, but exactly my thoughts about the bar being bent (just don't know how)

Did you use stock arms on the 78 or after market ones on the GN?
