Just a quick ? On,what are the tell tail signs of your mass air flow going bad or out?

it just doesnt run right , you put in a good one and now it does

Runs crappy.

Also if some knock suddenly becomes a problem when there wasn't any before, it could be the MAF not reading incoming air properly for correct A/F ratio.

Could be just about anything. Too lean, too rich, bad idle, tip-in stumble, BLM's not right.

Thanks guys, well what you say eric my blm's are 160. An when I boost around 18lbs it back fires, looked for all air leaks none.so I was leaning towards a bad m.a.f.Thanks for the input.

It's possible the MAF could be reading way too low, causing high BLM's and leaning out the top end.

I found the interior of my MAF dirty. I bought some MAF cleaner from NAPA & hosed it down. Seems to be running fine now. You might try cleaning yours just for the hell of it.

I thought you could diagnose it by tapping on it with the engine idling and it will stumble.

That didn't work to diagnose mine. BLMs were stuck low (108), stumble at tip-in , would start bucking at a certain speed / RPM, then finally all hell broke loose and it was stalling and running horrible all the time. Switched to a LT1 MAF and Translator and it was like a new car.
