Good luck to you & all the turbo bricks running at Fontana tomorrow.

All I Want Is 1 Good Run

It's down to the 7th inning

The list has been made and I've checked it twice

The Car has 3/4's of a tank of C-16 (), of which 1/4 tank will be used on the trip out to Fontana

Front tires replaced with new Volkswagon skinnies

Slicks set at 10 psi

Front end aligned

Everything loaded, unpacked, reloaded, unpacked again, and reloaded again

Checked the plugs, cleaned & gapped to .028

Methanol turned off

Boost set somewhere over 28....lol

Fluid levels good

All I need now is the guts to slam that shift handle forward off the transbrake at 20 psi , dodge the mirror and the cigarette lighter as they come flying at my nuts, and hold the hell on

Be my luck that it will rain tomorrow...ha!

Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement from everyone

My next post should be me happily stating that I finally made it into the 10's, or else I'll just Lie my a$$ off and tell you I did anyway...

Later

Ray.. Kirby stated 'make sure you have your keys to the car"... LOL

see you up there in the AM...

Good luck Ray. Post pics of that 10 sec time slip. Sorry I couldn't show. I was planning on carpooling with Mike but I was lucky enough to get mandatory overtime, so here is to another 72 hours of solid work.

10.72 125mph... i didn't see, but i heard about it :):):).. (i could be off a little on the numbers)

10.72 @125.17 mph

What a track day from hell...

Show up at 5:45 am and was about 75-100 cars in line

Pulled in right behind Brent (of all the odds)

When the gates opened at 6:00 am, Satan's ricer spawn came crawling out of the sewers & bushes and about 100 cars came in from all directions other than the long a$$ line we were waiting in and they managed to get into the staging lanes before us

So now we are about 250 cars back in the overall count

Brent ended up in group #5 (cars 200 - 250) and I ended up in group #6 (cars 250 - 300)

Then it started to drizzle and they delayed opening up the track

The track was lightly prepped, cold and slippery, and coupled with the ricers and their water slinging street radials, the starting line was like an ice skating rink

My 1st run was a Trans Brake nightmare (AGAIN!)

I did a decent burnout, staged and started building boost, slapped the shifter forward out of the trans brake (19 psi) and the race was on

Or so I thought

Once again I found out how easy it was not to slap the shifter all the way up into drive and 1/8 mile down the track when I hit the top of 2nd gear, I also hit the rev limiter (6400 rpm) and proceeded to snap, crackle & pop the rest of the way down the track. I knew the race was done so i backed off the gas and coasted across the line at 12.0 sec and 83 mph....lol

Needless to say I was pissed....and disappointed

So I went back to the pits with my tail between my legs, cleaned & re-gapped my plugs, scanned the FAST data log and changed my rev limiter from 6400 rpm to 7500 rpm. I also backed the boost down to 25 psi and waited to try it again.

2nd burnout was nice and long

Staged & started building boost

Left at 15 psi boost and did the the achy breaky a$$ shaking dance down past the 60 ft mark before it finally straightened out and went into afterburner

No pops, no rattles, no rev limiter, and finally my 1st TEN SECOND RUN :D

Of course the time slip TROLL was lurking in the shadows and promptly relieved me of my run card and said "your day is done"

When I saw the time, I gladly gave up the card and realized that my 1/4 mile goal had finally been met

The boost is already back down to 15 psi, the front swaybar goes back on tomorrow, the methanol is turned back on, and my racing days are DONE.

Thanks to all that showed up today and for those who offered their support

Happy hunting to the rest of you as you pursue your individual goals

Best regards,

Ray

Very nice Ray. Add Fontana to the list of tracks that have pulled your run card.
Jeff

Thanks Nordy...lol

Way to go Mike :D

You had to post my stupid ass trying to run the 1/4 mile in 2nd gear...

Thankfully you did not record what I was saying inside the slow ass car when I realized what I had done "AGAIN"...

Atleast the next run was a keeper....

I may not be beating on this car at the track anymore (I gotta clean it up so I can SELL it), but I will always be part of the buick crowd

I can always stick some GN emblems on the side of my SCION XB, and call it a T-Type (Light).....lol

Later guys

Sytech (Ray):
You may not know it, and you may not want to admit it, but you have turbo Buick oil in your veins and you might check out occasionally, but you will never leave. You'll be back.
You mean that Buick wise, you are going to get out while the getting's good, so to speak, just shy of the big goal that you are capable of or have already started, that would be seeing how many tracks you can get kicked out of. You already seem to have a head start on the record.

im telling you ray RX7/240sx/datsun/ Lc2 hybrid! :) Congratz there buddy, got that 10 second time slip. Welcome to the ten second club.
