how are the rear pieces held in? the two pices the fold up where the weathestrip locks into? i thought they were just spot welded in but now it looks like it might be part of the roof??
 
phillips screws are hidden everywhere behind the rubber seals....??
 
i mean the pieces under the weatherstripping like in the pic.

There is actually 2 rear roof pieces. The rear retainers are sandwiched between them. You can cut the rear retainers down narrower if needed & weld them back in. We built then the same size as the factory. Usually on a rear retainer it's only an inch or 2 that is rotted. You can cut the rear retainer as well & patch only that section.

Brian is right. However, if you do remove them (front or rear) I'd reccommend using body panel adhesive rather than welding. For the welding to have good penetration, the surfaces have to be bare...which means in 5 years you will be right back in the same spot...rust. the adhesive will seal out the moisture and prevent further rusting. t top roof

hey i just bought a car thats t tops and im going to make the car a hard top.you interested in the the pieces that you need if yours are rusted?this is a ca. car.no rust....
