I've been working on replacing the t-top weatherstrip on my 86 GN. Lots of fun so far, holes on top of both A-pillars. There was some type of foam sponge rubber "weatherstripping" under the trim all around the roof and t-tops. Is this something that was factory or something someone did to try to make them water tight? If factory does anyone repop them?
Thanks for your help

The sponge parts are still available. I won't tell you the price from GM that is why I don't carry them.
We normally go to home depot & buy a few different sizes. They are located in the door & window isles for sealing leaks. Same foam sponge with one side sticky tape. $5.00 a roll max for the big ones. I think there are only 3 different sizes underneath.
This also works good on the B-pillar trim when removed & also the seal retainers.

Yes they were installed at the factory.

I may be wrong but don't think he's talking about the sealing strip that goes around the front and down the middle on top of the L shaped trim piece and the center section...underneath the L-shaped pieces GM put some really soft spongy foam...it was about 1 1/4" wide...maybe 1/4" thick..very dense foam but extremely soft...I looked everywhere to try and find that stuff many years ago and couldn't...finally found something very similar at an A/C parts place...called Hendels...it's used to seal up A/C ducting and such...I have a big roll of it...can get a brand and number if you want...

Kirban sells it. I think its called t-top "anti-rattle" kit or something. Check his site. Easy to install.

No he is asking about the strip under the trim. Anti rattles are still available new.
