You guys know I love my T66. I want to upgrade and put the money back in the TB community. A friend TTA went 10.3X with the Turbonetics 6665 P-trim. TTA heads too...

I am yet to see the Newer 6262 or 6265/6266 do 10.3X's. I read about the potential. Lot of shoulda, coulda or will out power the T66... But no 10.30's... Has anyone?

I really like a 66mm or 67mm with ported heads on the TB's. Works well with the right converter. I like it a lot.

??? Thanks guys!

Joe

The 6265 has been low 10's with poor 60' times. It without a doubt supports enough mass flow to run 9's in a 3600lb car. Most peoples engines won't support what it can do. The cast t63 Garret has been 10 teens with a 76p trim. The 6665 t-netics with the large compressor cover will come damn close to 9's also but probably stall in the 10 teen range unless the car is light and or the air is really good. 6680 has been 9.90's. I've been over 137mph with it myself but was traction limited to low 10's. Very few on here have the balls to run them out

that is because turbo's are only one part of the combo.i see alot of posts here where guys try to compare combo's with tunes and fuel along with weight differences.

My 3720# car with 6265 JB ran a 10.37 @ 131.88 on 93/alky combo at 25#'s of boost after breaking 3 teeth off the ring gear and getting a crappy 1.59 60'. Turbo spools in less than a second with iron heads, DLS 218/218 roller and Dusty's 9.5 NLU convertor and pulls over 27MPH in the back half of the track. It has great street manners. I have a few goals to meet on 93/alky combo but after those are met, it will be time to switch to leaded race gas and see what it will do with 28#'s+ of boost.

Brian, I'll keep you posted on progress. Should be heading to the track soon. Have to catch the right days at local track; it runs east to west and we get strong winds from the south.

Again, thanks for your advice.

...and drastically different engines. A 9.5:1 engine with a lot of turbine needs a different cam then an 8.5:1 back pressure build that would typically be used on the street and have good slow rolling spooling capability. You can be sloppy without back pressure and still make a lot of power. That's why you hear so many post about how quick they are and "it was only at 22psi". Try running the turbo out and you will see it's a little different trying to get everything dialed in and happy. The CR and cam make a huge difference with a lot of back pressure. It's not like 10-20hp. It could be 70-80hp. Take that same engine and it probably wouldn't make much more power at the low boost level the other engine was run at.

exactly.guys want to talk about the latest and greatest turbo's which is fine i understand all about curiousity, but the rest of the car is key to maximizing power and longevity potential.
