hey guys sorry i forgot to ask but have been busy lately, when you upgrade to a ta-33 is it necessary to get a larger downpipe?, because the turbine side looks larger than stock from pictures i've seen. Also, my stock turbo compressor wheel is ruined (chipped pretty bad), will it cost more if i send it in to get it upgraded in this condition to john craig? any help would be greatly appreciated as always

No need for different DP. The exhaust housing is same as stock. The inside of it is where the difference is, they really open it up. Of course, it wouldnt hurt to upgrade the stock DP if you could.
I dont see why you shouldnt send in the turbo with the messed up compressor wheel. They basically just need your housings. They are going to put in a new compressor wheel anyway. The TA33 wheel will be larger, like that of a TA49 (again theyre opening up the inside of the housings). Give John a call and ask if your still worried about it. Hes a good guy to talk to.
As long as the whole turbo isnt just trashed to where it cant be used as a core, I would just send it. They dont expect you to be sending them a new condition part.
