what is the difference between a ta-49 and a te-60 whats the advantage and disadvantage.I'm new to the turbo world so thanks for any help in advance

TE60 has slightly larger wheels. Technically can make a little more power in the upper PSI ranges.

At low boost levels like 16 PSI, the 49 will spool faster and make the car more responsive.

TA49 can get away with using the stock tq converter. TE60 needs a higher stall.

If you got two cars at 16 psi all stock.. one with stock turbo, the other one with a TE60. The stock turbo car will leave the TE60 car in the dust.

You got two stock cars on race gas. One with TA49, the other with a TE60 "and" the updated tq converter.. both at 25 PSI boost.. the TE60 car will be ahead.

So it just depends what your doing, these cars are sensitive to combinations.
