If the converter I have didn't work, I would consider a 10"/3,200 stall from Pat's Converters.

I don't know anything about the t66 but it sounds too big for my needs. Thanks for the offer.

That would be just right I would think, spool like MAD...I say go for it.

If it was me I'd go with a TE series though...They flow a bit more.

I thought the TE-60 flowed less than than the TA-61 but I can't find the website for the turbo comparisons. The TE-60 may not require as much stall though.

A TE60 uses a TA49/TE44 ehaust wheel with a larger compressor. A 61 has a larger exhaust wheel, too. A TE60 would probably work with your current converter, but may not give you much in performance gains over your current combo.

A TA61 will make more HP on our motors than a TE60.

Ok what about the TE-61??? That's what I was refering to...Buddy of mine has one and it rocks...I just have a little TE-53.

I'm really confused over the designations. Is there a tutorial somewhere? I have a PT-61. I've seen TA-61s, TE-61s and references to just "T61"s.

What are the differences?

Jim

From what I know of the series. The te and ta 61 are the same cept for the housing. Stock appearing v/s non stock appearing. The pt-61 is a different story. I'm waiting on the feedback from pte about it. From what I got it has the new gt61mm wheel and if not an upgrade has a p-trim exhaust wheel. If I do not trade or sell my brand new 51 I'll be sending it in for the 61 upgrade minus the p-trim I'll keep my 2800 converter and the t-350 wheel.

So anyone that's interested the 51 has less than 150miles on it and no boost. Put it on drove it to the garage and it's been sitting there for almost a year. Engine buildup in the process.

Thanks trading t/a. don_3d posted on another 61 thread and answered at least one of my questions: which exhaust wheel do I have. I have a "6152" inscribed on my cover which is a GT350 wheel (versus the P-trim wheel).

Mine has the T04S housing, too, with 4" inlet and 2.5" outlet which is an optional configuration per PTE's site. I guess there are all sorts of options.

What does a "P-trim" wheel get you versus the GT350?

Jim

A lot more lag if you don't have the converter. Was running a stage 4 turbonetics on the stock D5 then went to orange stripe and it felt better, but would just nose over after letting of the footbrake while trying to brake boost at the tree. Couldn't do much better than 2.15-2.35 60's.

Shouldn't cost much to have mine sent back in for the new cover backing plate and wheel.
