Are you trying to find out if yours is a ta33c? If you are post a pick of inlet and outlet and a few board members will be able to tell. One dead give away is on inlet side there is no longer a beveled inlet. It gets machined out and goes straight to impeller.
 
I can post a PIC of a TA33 if you want me to. I have a stock turbo as well as a TA33C in my bar cabinet. Let me know. Brad
 
Thanks for the help and pics. Looks like mine does have the bevel on the inlet side. I bought a complete hot air motor because I was told it had the better turbo on it. Now it looks like I just have more stock parts. Is the ta33c the only turbo upgrade for the 84/85 cars?
 
The TA33C is the only upgrade available. You can have an 87 turbo custom mounted as well but it probably really expensive. Good luck. Brad

also remember there is more things involved in the 87 turbo then just mounting it. you have to make sure you have the correct seals internally in the turbo or it will blow oil like a SOB. but thats just my .02 :eek:
 
The Jays GN turbe you quoted is a TA33C. I called them last year on it. Locate a blown TA33C and have it rebuilt by Precision. $330. New TA33C over $800-$900. My two cents. Brad
