Tach sensor wire not by alternator

I’ve looked at old post about locating the tach sensor wire that’s near the alternator but I can’t find it on my friend’s car. (I’ll try to attach a few pictures.) My car, it’s right there next to the fuel pump relay wire. Mine is a white wire with a green connection. (First picture) His has the fuel pump relay next to the firewall. I don’t see anything that looks like a white wire with a green connection. I know there’s a white tach wire that leads to the computer but it’s a mess where that is! I just want to connect a tachometer for him. Hopefully someone can Identify the wire for me from the picture? (2nd picture is his)

hahaha.. It's plugged into the white wires with the green plug. Unplug it an the gray wire is there.

Don’t see what you are talking about in the 2nd picture?

First pic down the bottom .. 2 white wires that are in the green connector... The gray tack wire is plugged into it. NOT SUPPOSE TO BE CONNECTED. Common mistake from years ago.

Oh I see. That’s the green wire from my monster tach years ago. It works. I leave it. Just can’t find the wire On my friends car

There will be two white wires, not one. Someone could have removed them from the green connector, tied them together, and buried them somewhere in the harness. But they are there somewhere.

That makes sense. I’ll look for that. Actually, I see a white wire and one that looks like the fuel pump relay with a connection. Probably cut it. Good place to start. Dunno why anyone would do that.
