Decided to deal with the heat wave we are having in our area and take the Pearl T out to a show I haven’t been to in about 10 years and first time with this car. It got a lot of respect beyond my greatest expectations. I ended up taking home Best GM (Non-Chevrolet) at the show today!! That’s a lot of competition to come out on top off. I’m so happy that people recognize what a true gem these cars are.

Also...there was another 87 Regal there, but his was a bit different. LOL.

Not my thing but no doubt this car had a lot hours put into the build.

You are truely fortunate ! Pretty much all the shows my 87T has attended were filled with people who had zero appreciation for the most awesome car of the 1980's. Once in a while someone will make a comment about how cool my car is but, most of the time they just walk on by.

I get a lot of fly by’s with some that don’t even bother a quick glance but overall the car draws a lot of looks more often. There are a lot of people out there that appreciate these cars now because they are so rare to see. I did meet a fellow board member up there by total chance and that’s always nice to put a real person behind a screen name.

In all honesty I truly think this car stands tall against any other car in the category entered. This show crew lumps 80s/90s together so I personally think any TR should place in the top 3 compared to a 3rd Gen Camaro, Fox Body, or Monte SS. Now there’s another different crew around here that puts 70s/80s Domestic Stock together and that’s a bit harder to predict since most tried and true muscle car dudes would go early 70s stock muscle all day on his vote. The other thing I really like about this show was they randomize the participants voting ballots so not all guys get the same ballot. I think that should help cut down on the chance of buddies or car clubs just voting for each others cars. I’ve seen a lot of truly undeserving cars leave with a trophy.

Now...this award meant a lot to me because to be voted not just the best 80s/90s car but the best GM vehicle (except Chevy) regardless of model year was astounding. I was floored. I don’t think that this will be topped this year at any other show but, as they say, on any given Sunday...
