I have an Art Carr non lock up kit and I have questions regarding the installation of the new valve.

There are 3 different pages of instructions.
2 of the pages say to tap the hole in the pump and install the cap screw that's included with the kit. These pages are probably out dated because there's no screw in the kit.

The 3rd page says to remove the cap plug that's currently in the pump and install a new one (after installing the new valve).
The new cap plug doesn't have an orifice like the old plug.

What is the purpose of the screw / plug?
Is it to remove the orifice that's in the original plug?
Or is it to hold the valve in place to prevent it from rotating?
Or both?

Anyone have recommendations?

I removed the old plug and installed the new one, but it is kind of loose and if I put in down far enough to touch the valve, it is really loose. I don't want it to fall out and end up somewhere it doesn't belong.

One more question - now that I am converted to non lock up, what do I do with the TCC solenoid? Do I put it back? Leave it laying in the pan? Cut it off?

Thanks.

install a 1/4 20 allen head set screw in the hole.if the hole is not blocked it wont redirect the lube oil properly.you can bolt the solenoid back in or throw it out it wont matter as it is now non functional.
