The trans has been rebuilt at some point and I can't understand why someone wouldn't reinstall the TCC lockup switch in the side of the trans. The wiring was zip tied to the prop valve area and the plug itself is gone...being replaced by what looks like a brass freeze plug sort of thing. Why would someone delete the TCC plug on the drivers side of the trans?

for non-lock up application ,
a lockup converter is slightly less responsive and can wear out sooner in higher HP/TQ applications, but will return better mileage and cooler trans temperatures. A non-lockupconverter trades off some heat and effiencency for more response.
most track cars run non lock up
this mod also requires a non lock up torque converter

Can you run a non lock up converter in a lock up trans and not plug in electronic for lock up??

Not advised as the fluid gets diverted around the cooler and can and usually does over heat. If you are going non lock up, the pump mods aren't difficult and should be done to prevent the adverse affects.
