Im not sure if this is a minor or major problem

In easy around town driving Ive noticed my upshift to 4 gear is somewat erratic. It will take place between 50 and 60 mph. It will start with a small rpm drop, hesitate from 1/2 to 2 seconds, then finish the shift normally. downshift to 3rd seems normal.
It has done this for some time now, but seems more pronounced now that Ive gone to a 2800 stall. TV cable adjusted, 1-2 and 2-3 shifts seem fine. Any thoughts?

Typically when the TCC goes bad when you come to a stop the car will bog down like a manual transmission car would do. Feels like you need to push a clutch in. One way to check if the TCC is bad and has anything to do with your issue (even tho I think it might be something else) on the driver side of the transmission is the plug for the TCC. Just unplug it and drive it around and see. Just stay off the highway as your converter won't ever lock with that unplugged but it's a way to take it out of the equation issue.

I can try that. When I had the D5 in there I would race it without OD and the shifts were fine.
I dont have any of the bog problems when comming to a stop. the final result(firm shift to 4th) seems firm enough I wasnt thinking slippage, just very slow engagement.

Yea just pop off that 4 pin plug on the driver side of the trans and see how it goes. Pretty quick and easy way to single it out! :)

OK,
I had some time to unplug the TCC cable. Normal driving at light throttle
1-2 shift, firm as always at about 20 mph
2-3 shift, not as firm but OK at about 40 mph.
What got me confused was at about 60 mph I got my shift from 3-4. I thought that would be locked out by unplugging the TCC at the transmission. I drug out the Direct scan and logged a few sessions. I will try to digest it tonight and get some real numbers
