I just heard this. Why?

Generally, you don't discontinue a product that "sales like hot cakes".

I was a few days away from ordering one.

My understanding is that it was replaced by a newer/better version with billet front cover and some other upgrades. Ive also heard the "9/11" designation was dropped for obvious reasons. I cant personally vouch for the above but thats what Ive heard in the syty community as a bunch of us run that converter when we go higher stall.

Other than that I dunno..

I knew about the name change, but why the heck is the non-billet (less expensive) version no longer being sold?

If yer gonna use a cheap stamped cover and a cheap OE clutch, why bother, just sell a stocker...it'll be stronger.

Ya get what ya pay for guys.....

WTF? There's tons of guys going fast w/ the non-billet unit.

NOT TRUE!!!

Chris explains it pretty well in the trans section. TCS and the rest of us are having trouble suppling cores. To ship cores has become expensive which nobody wants to pay. We are making both but on the billet ones , they have a better clutch setup.
Both are still available, but do not be surprised to see the stock backed one go up a little in price.
Both are very reliable, very durable, and work well.
You cannot go wrong either way.
