What kind of MPH is a TE 44 good for on a full weight car with stock unported heads with say a max of 26 psi of boost?

let's put it this way...on my old combo with a TE-44 turbo and 50's with stock converter, rebuilt trans, 3" downpipe, slicks and race gas, race chip, bone stock motor with just valve springs, stock intercooler...I ran a best of 11.52 @ 118 mph at 28 psi and a 15 psi launch:eek: ... it's hard to go much faster than that without head work...

yes sir it was:D about a 15 psi launch (have the rear brake mods done and heated up the slicks really good)

118 is about rite as an average. ET is dependant on traction. Typical i've seen at 25 PSI is about 113-115. Moderate timing, no hail mary's..stock heads, stock cam.

Yup..one thing is a 113.09, then back to back ..111-112's.. My way of looking at it.. 111 would probably be more realistic since this is what occurs more often than 113. Which is in line with 113-115 at 25 :) car may get a good nite and do 120 at 24 PSI, but its not what it always can bracket race at :)

Think we see someone in ideal weather put down a number, like landing a 15 lb bass.. and be the number.. great to hit an expectation.. then work on surpassing the norm on a constant basis, and not get disappointed in the middle of august track surface 115 degrees.. why the car doesnt run but 113 at 25 PSI when its just conditions werent rite.

Now if it runs 106 at 25 PSI..then start looking ;)

weather was 70 overcast car was getting better every run, only able to run three times that day,too many ricers:mad:

I can't seem to get mine over 113. I think I might be able to this year, but not by much. It's definitely time for a new turbo next year.

I got 114 out of mine.:D fast eddie we are running almost identicle times and speed. Mine was on a 100 octane chip running 24 psi. Hey Ben what was your 60 foot on that 11.88?

i got 115.9 out of mine a week and a half ago, that was with 22 psi, no TC lock up and a 19* timing chip. It was 90* and 80-95% humidity at the time so i know when the weather comes around and i get a more aggressive chip, 118-119 should happen, but who knows. i like the 44 a lot especially for a street turbo, but i am definatly thinking about upgrading to a 61 in the next year for some 120 mph passes:D

My 60' was 1.7 something. Nothing spectacular, I run Drag Radials all the time.

I have a 44 with and could only get 107 at 12.017 24 lbs of boost on a 26 degree race chip locking the converter at 85 original valve springs 62mm throttle body th downpipe 26 inch slicks.O2 were low 700 and my egt was 1620 on c16.Is that way to lean as i was not getting any lnock

28" tires are the key to running faster than 114 mph with a small turbo.

my TA49 has gone 118.3 with 23 psi of boost and a stock motor with 275/60 BFG's.

I NEVER broke 114 mph with 275/50 BFG's.

It's all about revs and our motors 'aint got none.

I ran a 12.16@113 with mine.
20 psi and a 10 pound launch. with a street chip and pump gas.

I've ran 117.93 on 275/50's with my Ta49. Combo's in the sig - time for 28" tires for me.

Have the Heads been gone through? Even just a 3 angle valve job will give nearly a 10% improvement in flow and allow a little higher RPM.

You ran 118 on pump gas + alchy with a TA 49 thru a 100% stock longblock with 26" tall tires?

That isn't the norm. Congrats, that is FAST!!!!
