How much stall for fast spooling?

How does it compare to the stock D5? Thinking of having mine re-stalled to 3000

I think it will spool kinda slow with a 3000...... 3200-3400 should be minimum for snappy spoolup with a 61 IMHO.

Oh ok...I was under the impression 3000 was ok for light usage...I guess I'll have to do some research...

I am not saying it won't work... I'm just saying it will feel considerably faster on the street with a higher stall..... at least that is what I read.... I am in a similar boat.....I have a TE60 that I am going to install at some point..... I went ahead and bought a used 5 disk Vigilante that stalls well above 3200 at the moment.... ought to complement my 60 well.... or if I elect to upgrade... a GT6152S.

I have a 3400 stall with my TE-61. It is insta-spool. Chris from CK recommended it. However, I have outgrown the 61 and am looking at a 70 series. If I go ball bearing I think the 3400 will still work good.

I'm also running the TE-61 w/ 3200 NLU converter. It spools great. Love it on the street!

I have a Pat's 10"/3,600 and it shifts very soft during normal driving but at WOT and down shifts it works great.

I also have the TE-61 and use a '0' pump Vigilante converter, I had a restalled D5, its not worth re-stalling it I have yet to se one stall anymore than 2700 @ 0 psi! So go with something it the 3200-3500 range

I have the 5-disk PI Vigilante "0-pump", but there are several good converters out there. I like the hi-perf lock-ups for a car that is driven on the street and runs slower than mid 10's..... you get the best of both worlds..... high stall for quick spoolup.... and lock-up for highway use.... just like a clutch on a standard.... engine feels like it is locked to the driveshaft......This is just my opinion....
