I am in need of a power seat motor for my T-Type. They seem plentiful in the junkyards. Is there any way to Test them and see if they are working motors before buying and installing them? What about power window motors? Also, are there any motors that will work and are FASTER than the one's GM supplied with the cars?

Thanks,

Alan

Power Seat Motor

Thanks, but I can get them out of yards around here for $5. My only problem is that I don't want to go through 10 to find 1 good one. So, I'm trying to figure out a way to test the motor.

Sure could use some help.........

Take a battery in with you. That's what I did to find a good set of power seat tracks when I converted my manual seats into 6-way power seats. I brought a dolly with me, then took the battery out of my car. When I got into the junk yard, I found a couple of battery cables, cut them off, so I could attach the cables to the battery. Then I found a length of 2 conductor wire to shove into the cut ends of the battery cable and twist onto the seat connectors.

THANKS

Thanks. That's just what I was looking for.

If you need power window motors, just buy new ones. I believe they are about $40 each.

There are some claims that 78 thru 80 motors are a remedy for the slow wind-up, but this is bad information. Problem with our windows is the size of the wiring. Kirban sells some sort of harness upgrade.
