TH 400 Direct clutch springs

Im looking for a source for new direct clutch springs for my turbo 400. Ive read TransGo has some heavy duty ones, but cant seem to find them on their site.

There's some Info here about Mid page >> http://www.bdub.net/tranny/TH400SuperBeefing-text.pdf says they "HD Springs" are included in some of TransGo's reprogramming kits but, are available seperately. A local Trans Parts House should be able to get them.

So I bought springs for a 4l80e from GM, not knowing they were secured to the retaining plate. I removed the bottom ring that friction fits into the springs, and it now will fit my aluminum clutch piston. However, the 4l80e springs are shorter than the old 400 springs(I'm missing a few, thus the search for new ones). Will this work ok, or will the spring tension be to little? I'll try to post a pic tomorrow, when I can use a real computer. Thanks.
