Can anyone tell me whats involved in replacing th front pump on a TH400? Is it a straight in and out job? Will the input shaft stay in place?

I have done this job before on a E40D so i have a fairly decent understanding of what to do, just want to make sure.

also can anyone advise of a source for new front pumps?

Thanks

very simple and much easier than an e40d.we stock them at ckperformance .718 784 4256

remove 6 or 8 bolts depending on model ,install a slide hammer into the threaded hole/s in pump and remove while pushing in the input shaft .clean off old gasket and install new one using 2 guides located opposite each other thru the pump and into the case while pushing the pump in and gently and slowly line up all bolts in their holes and draw it closed torque bolts to 20 lbs ft.works best with transmission pump bore facing up ,and dont forget to oil up the pump oring to avoid ripping it upon assembly.www.ckpeerformance.com
