I'm in the market for a new turbo, and I was wondering if the TE-44 is the right choice for me. I only want to hit 12's and I am eventually going to get alky, but it might be a while if I get this other car I'm looking at. With that turbo, should I get the 42.5lb injectors as well?? I seen that package on Aggressive Auto and i was wondering if that would be a good package to get cuase i also need a new chip. Thanks!

The stock turbo can easily take you into the lower 12's. If you need a replacement turbo, then the TA49 or TE44 are excellent choices. Try to see if you can get a TE44 w/ .63 Garrett housing. If you still have your stock turbo, Limit Engineering (or whomever you choose) can use your factory exhaust housing. You might as well step up to the 50# injectors. Most chip burners find them easier to work with when compared to the 42.5#. Drivability won't suffer a bit. I have a stock engine and run the 75# injectors with no issues.

if your going to upgrade the turbo i would step up to a ta 60. its fine with the stock converter and as stated above go with the 50s. the ta 60 is a bit bigger than the 49 .:D

if your going to be getting alky in the near future you might as well just get a chip from eric at turbotweak.com. just go to his site and it will tell you what he needs to know. plus you should be able to run the alky chip until you get the alky so you'd only need one chip.

The TE-44 is a great street /strip turbo and there are many people in the 11's with it. (I say this as I am thinking of upgrading turbos to go faster)

Hi,
I'd go with the old tried and true TA49, maybe archaic but a good performer at a reasonable price, and a total bolt on. Works good with all injectors, especially the smaller ones. Nice sleeper package.

ok, i still have the stock turbo, but its literally pissing oil into the exhaust making it smoke really bad when it gets hot! The car is just gonna be used on the street, maybe takin down the track a couple times, but I just want a fast street car. Would the stock injectors work?? Or shoudl i upgrade?? I won't be getting alky for at least another year, cause i have a lot of other stuff that needs to be done first. Thanks for the reply's!!

44/49 has your name on it. :)

Will work fine with stock injectors (that are good) at stock boost levels and higher if your mods. and octane can support it.

Upgrade everything else first, then trade it in when you want to go bigger say when you get a larger stall converter down the road.
