The coupling just makes a loud explosive noise and all the air seems evaporate. It on fails under boost 20psi, I tried getting longer silicon tubes but still same problem The size 2.5 to

Are you using radiator clamp hoses? If so change out to the spring loaded clamps..forget actual name

Yeah...the hair spray kinda acts as a lube to get it on, then it drys and gets sticky to hold it in place. You kill two birds with one stone. Of course most turbo have a nice lip to it that should make the hose never come off. I've never really heard of a blow off there unless a clamp failed, or someone forgot to tighten it.

First off I apologize for putting this thread in the wrong section, I guess it would into the Turbo side. I am going to try the (Dawn) dish soap... Does everyone have to cut the grill to get it to fit right???

Oh and I have been using the T-Bar Clamps intercooler 005.JPG

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see any clamps in that pic . Also, I can't say I recommend dawn soap. Why would you use that? Are you messing with us?

Is there a raised lip on both the turbo and the pipe? Does the hose come off the turbo or off of the pipe? Make sure the clamp is behind the lip and tight so it won't slide over the lip on both ends. How much boost are you running? With a 3" pipe and 25 psi boost the force trying to push the hose off the pipe and the turbo is 175 lbs, so when you test it pretend you are doing a chinup, don't just give it a little tug. I have heard of using hairspray, and some say it works. Dawn would be a lubricant to help get a tight hose on, but it will also help it slide back off so don't use any. Best is to use soap and water to clean the hose and metal so there is no grease or anything else on them, then put them together dry or with a little water if you need some lube. The t bolt or permatorque clamps are best, but the positioning is more important.

A very thin coat of permatex around the turbo snout will hold under alooottttt of boost & cleans off very easy the next time u need to pull it off! Along with the t-bolt clamps of course.

Obvious question
You're intercooler is nice n secured and not flopping around?
Assume the hoses are not impregnated with any oil residue from turbo
They can be very slippery when they get like that
T-bolts are the best
You can squeeze those down nicely
Much more than a hose clamp
Almost too tight sometimes where if you're not careful you will slice through the hose or cause it to want to walk off turbo or uppipe

I like using brake parts cleaner as a lube. It seems to soften up the rubber and kinda vulcanize the hose to the object. That method is a carryover from my motorcycle days installing grips.

I took all the advice from everyone Thank you, and methods to try like (hairspray) and just went slow Tightened the T clamps ... let the car sit and went back to check my work over to ensure no mistakes... So as of yesterday no problems but, didn't push the boost 10-12 psi... Thanks for all the help

I had problems with my TB hose blowing off but the problem wasn't the hose or clamps. The problem was that boost would push the up-pipe backwards so hard that it would slip off the hose. I made a boost brace that held the up-pipe from moving away from the TB and it cured the issue. Instead of the Band-Aids of goo and tighter clamps look and see if the IC can actually move away from the turbo and if it can brace it so it can't move.
