Here's a letter I wrote him.......

This is nothing close to a GNX clone : Incorrect fender vents(real vents use 2 allen screws to secure), it has trans am wheels, incorrect dash cluster, in correct dash emblem, trunk emblem on wrong side, rear window from 81 to 84 regal(note defroster), incorrect concert sound II radio, in correct '84 leather seats, in correct intercooler, in correct turbo(GNX uses a ceramic impeller exhaust housing), wrong turbo cover, wrong up pipe(should be cermatel coated), wrong GNX gill emblem mount(not emblem but mount), its NOT a stock down pipe and its NOT stock ram air, no rear seat brace, the 2 toggle switches could be for anything but the large dial knob is for the Deltagate wastegate boost control, rear suspension should also be a ladder bar setup with no upper control arms(no pics to verify).
just thought i could help you describe your GN a little better and much more accurately to avoid yourself misrepresentation of an automobile on a legal binding contract.

that is a nice clown  ,call it what it is...someone lied to that guy..frank, got my 68 rs going and cleaned up..looking good, ill be at the next mels...if my floorpans are in...

Man you really take these things seriously, its like the dude insulted your mother.

What else is he supposed to call a car that essentially looks like a GNX to the average joe. To nit pick about bolt heads is pretty anal.

GNX copy? GNX look alike? you can argue with any name you give it if you want to be super picky

I'm not 'nit-picking' bolt heads........Here is his quote from his ad ! (Note where it says "AUTHENTIC GNX PARTS........."That is plain old fashioned Mis-representation. :)

( quote) The authentic GNX parts are as follows:

Fenders w/ flares and vents, gauges, 342 rear end, suspension, seats, red strip injectors, T3/ T4 turbo stock housing w/ bigger fans, power chip 5500 rev, high volume fuel pump, stock down pipe, stock ram air , stock intercooler, drive shaft loop, front brake calipers.

This vehicle has just been professionally refinished using the correct GNX paint codes and painted to factory specs. The original owner had it painted once before using only gloss black and leaving the correct flat black accents off. Now it is correct.

I agree with some of the stuff you said to him but saying the vents arent authentic because they arent secured by two allen screws is kind of absurd, i doubt many people really know that.

I only brought it up because he said they are authentic.......thats all ! Maybe i would save an un-educated buyer.

The authentic GNX parts are as follows:

Fenders w/ flares and vents

I don't want to get into a pissing match with anyone, I just wanted you guys to see this lame example of a GNX re-creation !

They technically are authentic vents they just dont have the "authentic" allen screws ;)

True.......lol ! The dash emblem is too, Its just for the deck lid/grille........lol

At least he used the 'correct' GNX paint codes.......

Just another guy trying to cash in on the GNX hysteria, he saw the $30k 'good' GNX recreation and thought he could put the flares, vents and emblems you can get on ebay on the car and get close to that $30k.
I don't think those wheels are the GTA wheels as they would have the dimples around the outside? maybe Kirbins?

I love how he talks about the turbo switches on the dash and how he dosen't know anything about them
Can't stop laughing about that GNX dash plate
and
The Ttype decklid trunk kit

No, they ARE GTA wheels, the dimples were used in certain yrs and then the NO dimples were used in other yrs.......Kirbin wheels have in-set lug nuts and actually look nothing like a GTA/GNX wheel.

Im with you 100% 1badGT. Hes a A$$clown(as the kids today say) lol, That pos is horrible.. its amazing how little some really know about what the heck they are selling. Did anyone notice the T type trunk kit.. What an idiot.

He just replied to me with this quote

Item: Buick : Grand National (4636332521)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
bernie2230 is the seller.

I appreciate your info. As I am selling this for a friend. I specialize in classic Cadillacs. I wrote the ad as it was sent, and the owner took it to a classic car shop to get it evaluated. All the features listed were claimed to be on the car by them. My friend who is also not a Buick specialist took the car to them for the very reason to know what was on the car. I will post this on the ad so all potential buyers can view before bidding. So to avoid any other confusion or unintentional misrepresentation these facts I know. 1987 Grand National. Fresh paintjob. Painted to factory specs. Paint cost $6000 and finish is show quality. This I can verify with reciepts. If anyone has anymore questions please contact. Thanks

i believe him because he actually posted my response on the e-bay ad ! CLICK IT AND HE POSTED IT ON THERE.........

Damn you guys must have some really nice cars cause that thing looks good to me, if my car looked like that I would be ecstatic.

However, there are definite plusses to my Grey Theft Deterrent Coating (primer).

No Pablo, its not about the looks or the clone part........its about the fact that he said it has "Authentic" GNX parts.........But he clarified that and I believe him that some idiot told him this stuff was real.....otherwise he would not have posted it in his ad. I just didn't want some good guy (or woman) buying it , thinking it had "Authentic" GNX parts on it when it in fact does not.

But - if someone bought THAT thing thinking that stuff is "authentic" - they don't have a clue either - and deserve to have their money taken from them. - IMO

I think clones are stupid. Call it what it is a GN with a few GNX look alike parts. I love the look of the GNX but would never spend the kind of cash they are fetching these days. There is nothing wrong with giving your GN the GNX look just don't call it a clone unless it's an exact replica.
