Just as the title says. It needs to be at least 10GB but will likely be bigger. Are there certain features I should look for or brands that I should stay away from?

Thanks

Their batteries have a tendency to go belly up after an unreasonably short life. At first, Apple wouldn't replace. They have a not too cheap program to replace them now after this web site was put up. I've also seen people have plans for replacing the battery for about $40.

People seem to love the player though.

I bought a 128 mb Gateway, and wasn't able to return it as defective while in the middle of moving. 90 warranty expired, and Gateway wouldn't fix it, and couldn't offer a service option for me to pay for it to be fixed. I'm forever off of Gateway because of it.

Your best bets are probably either the Apple iPod or the Creative Labs Jukebox Zen. Both are nice, with members of each camp strongly supporting their choice (just like the car world). I'd check both out and try to use both before you decide.

If you do buy one I'd suggest buying it somewhere like Best Buy and getting a replacement plan that will cover the battery, the lcd, and whatever else might go wrong as they are very expensive to fix as noted above (though they have been improved, battery technology isn't where we'd like it to be and the battery will die). Good luck, they're both nice players and I'm sure you'd enjoy either one.
