Those who's cam's wiped, who made it and how long did it last?

About to throw in a new cam and just want to see if there is a cam made by someone thats wiping a lot more than the others.

FWIW, still running the same cam when I last replied.
(Comp 206/206 [hydr roller])
But, in playing with the code end of things, have at time to time wound up with some really high oil temps. (as indicated by low oil Pressure), and still doing just fine. The motor now, if I make 2 passes back to back now only holds ~15 PSI oil pressure at idle.

from what i hear Erson cams are the SH** now days just follow procedures on break in and they will last 4ever use a 100 pound spring.

Maybe doing a cryo on the cam and lifters would be a good idea on the flat tappets? Seems like cheap insurance.

I rescently built a motor for a friend and used a Erson grind cam. His stock cam lobe was wiped 3 exhaust with 136k on it before we pulled it down. He has been beating on the new motor with 24 to 30# boost and its been holding fine. I broke in the cam with weak valve springs and then installed 90#s so all is well. The erson cam and crane cores seem to have a much better lobe design them the comps and lunati.

Talked to 300 below and to Mike at FTS, I think I am going with a Roller.

Mike wiped a cryoed cam and the more I think about it, its not worth the risk over saving maybe $450 after the cryoing of parts $75 ( cam $160, lifters $42, pushrods $72 and cryoing $75 = $350 ).

Doing a 3rd motor rebuild is so far out of the question right now I am selling everything I got for the extra roller $$.

210/215 roller is my guy. :biggrin:
